The Pioneer Woman’s Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic and Cranberries

I have an unhealthy obsession with this woman, I know. If you ever hear that I packed up all my belongings and left New York for “the ranch”, you should probably call the authorities.

Hands down, the best brussels sprouts recipe I have EVER had.

Hmmmm…may have to give this a try…like as soon as I get home! and seriously its brussel sprouts…at least that’s what I always thought (as I am typing this, the word “brussel” is underlined in red, guess I have been living a lie all these years haha)

Since you have an obsession with The Pioneer Woman, I am assuming that you have read her book? Not cookbook, but book. Her story about how she got to where she is… It’s on my (long) list to read, but I have heard from my girl friends (who also have an obsession with her and her food) that it is amazing!

  9. Sara February 28, 2012 at 6:28 pm #

I’ve been making brussels this way (minus the bacon) pretty much 4 nights a week for a month..I’ve never been so into a vegetable in my life – seriously unreal delicious! I really feel like you need to be featured on her show on food network…someone make this happen!!

  10. shellbell February 28, 2012 at 6:59 pm #

  11. shellbell February 28, 2012 at 6:59 pm #

and brussel (no s) sprouts were on sale today for $1.39 a pound!!! hell yes. i bought three, made one. all for myself of course.

Chrissy! I loved these. Got my picky eater husband (hate saying that he sounds like a 4year old) to even eat them. Him and I are on very different diets, him: paleo-ish me: wine and yummy things, and I have made four things from your site for both of us! It may be stretch, but you can put on your resume you are saving our marriage by keeping our dinners peaceful.

Thank you so much, I adore you and talk about you more than a normal non stalker should! xo

I hate Brussel (just can’t do it, can’t add the extra s) Sprouts, but my boyfriend requests me to make them. A lot. I have found only one way I like them, here’s the recipe for it.
But I am totally going to try Pioneer Woman’s now. The key I think is to sweeten them up somehow to balance that terrible bitterness they can have.

You are wrong about that being the best brussels sprouts you’ve ever had, because I do not think you’ve had this:

Seriously. To quote my aunt, I could take a bath in it.

Chrissy have you have had the brussels sprouts and pancetta pizza from Motorino?? sooo tasty

  19. Shy (@BeautyNDFeast) February 29, 2012 at 5:47 pm #

OH. Two places in the city you have to try the brussel sprouts: L’Artusi (and their brown butter gnocchi..this place is For Real) and Sorella down in the Lower East side (their brussel spouts have bacon in it too, which I have a feeling you would love).

  20. Kathy March 1, 2012 at 11:55 am #

I am so ready to make this! Especially since BS (Brussels Sprouts, the other BS is always free but never desired and declared hard to shallow) is on sale in the market!

  21. Sarah H March 1, 2012 at 12:51 pm #

Brussel(S) Sprouts!? You just turned my world upside down!! But, I do love me some brussel sprouts (I refuse to give in and add the S)

  22. Amy March 1, 2012 at 2:09 pm #

So I’ve been following your blog for awhile (love it, by the way), but I’m just now commenting. I wanted to make sure you’ve seen and tried out this recipe: for balsamic braised brussels sprouts with pancetta/bacon because it is soooo good and seems right up your alley. Like seriously, so good.

Also!! I am born and raised in Tacoma, so when I heard your from WA that made me real happy, haha.

  23. Caz March 1, 2012 at 4:35 pm #

I made this recipe a few months ago and have been obsessed with brussels sprouts ever since. Also, with roasting any and all vegetables. Why did I ever bother boiling, steaming or sauteeing veg before?!? Roasting!! 🙂

  24. Rocio March 2, 2012 at 4:58 pm #

Chrissy! My imaginary BFF! I just made this but instead of balsamic, I used red wine vinegar. OMG girlfriend!! The most delish thing on my plate! You must try!

  25. Emily March 3, 2012 at 8:44 pm #

You.are.awesome. #1 Iove brussel(S) sprouts and have an instant attachment to anyone who shares this unique obsession. #2. Yes, you’re onviously beautiful, but you’re also funny and refreshingly sarcastic and grounded.. that is why i love following you on twitter/reading your blog!

  26. Alison March 5, 2012 at 4:29 pm #

Hi!! It was so great meeting you in Vegas at the SI party at Pure! Sorry if I was an over-excited creep, haha, was just so excited to meet my favorite tweeter/blogger! As promised, I am signing your blog! I actually was kicking myself thinking that I should have asked you to try out some veg-friendly dishes when I had the chance.. and just as I was thinking to myself that I wanted to make some brussel sprouts tomorrow I checked your blog and was SO EXCITED to find this!! Anyway, it was great to meet you and can’t wait to try this out tomorrow! AND I’ll be sure to comment again!

  27. Stace April 26, 2012 at 12:39 pm #

I’m a little tardy to this party…BUT I saw your reference to Pioneer woman and it brought me here. SHE IS DA BOMB. I made her red wine and garlic pork chops. LAAAWDAMERCY!! YUMMMILISHOUS! So yeah, seconding you on her recipes.

Hi! Just found your blog today, and here I am, in the office, being totally unproductive, drooling over your recipes and having a good giggle at the same time..

    A fellow bacon lover, I wanted to share a delicious, creamy Brusselsprout-and-Bacon side dish with you;

Cut brusselsprouts in half and boil until almost tender, then drain. Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in a pan. When the bacon is crisp, put the brusselsprouts in with the bacon to get them all covered in bacon grease and to get a little color. Add cream to the ‘baconsprouts’. Place in an ovenproof dish and top with breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese and bake in the oven until golden… Yuuuum!

It’s very straightforward to find out any topic on net as compared to textbooks, as I found this article at this site.%7

Um Yes, I can’t wait to try this tonight!!!!
